Gentle, natural portrailts of those first sleepy days

NEWBORN SESSIONS

Those first sleepy days deserve to be beautifully remembered.

The first weeks with a newborn pass in a blur. The tiny eyelashes, the way their fingers curl, the sleepy stretches that disappear almost overnight — these are the details I'm here to capture for you, gently and unhurriedly, while you focus on soaking in your new baby.

With 15+ years of experience photographing newborns and families across the Beaverton and Portland metro, I bring a calm, baby-led approach to every session. Whether we shoot in your home or in studio, the goal is the same: timeless newborn portraits that feel as soft and sacred as those first days really are.

I serve families across Beaverton, Portland, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, and Tigard — and I'd love to help you remember this season exactly as it was.

MY APPROACH

Calm, gentle, and centered on your baby.

Newborns set the pace. My sessions are built around feeding, soothing, and the breaks every baby needs — never rushed, never forced. New parents are often exhausted, and that's expected; you don't need to perform or have it together. You just need to be there.

I bring wraps, simple outfits, and styling pieces in soft, timeless tones so the imagery feels classic rather than dated. Your baby stays the focus. By the end of your session, most parents tell me it felt less like a photo shoot and more like a quiet morning with someone who happened to bring a camera.

RELAXED, IN-HOME NEWBORN PHOTO SESSIONS

What's included in your Beaverton newborn session

Every newborn session at Studio Nagita is a full experience, planned around your baby's comfort and your family's pace. Here's what to expect from the time you reach out through the moment you receive your final gallery.

Pre-session planning consultation

Once you book, we'll connect to talk through your due date, your home or studio preference, and the look you want for your newborn portraits. I'll send a complete preparation guide covering what to wear, how to time the session around your baby's feeds, and what to have ready so the morning of your session feels effortless.

Wraps, outfits, and newborn styling pieces

You don't need to buy anything. I bring a curated collection of wraps, hats, headbands, and simple newborn outfits in soft, neutral tones that photograph beautifully and won't feel dated in five years. If you have a meaningful piece — an heirloom blanket, a hand-knit hat from a grandparent, a special outfit — bring it. We'll work it in.

Gently, baby led posing

Roughly two to three weeks after your session, you'll receive a private online gallery of your fully edited high-resolution images. Birth announcements, social shares, and print-ready files are all included. Professional prints, albums, and wall art are available through your gallery if you'd like physical keepsakes.

Every pose is gentle, safe, and led by your baby's cues. I never force a sleeping baby awake or push past their comfort. If your newborn needs to feed, we feed. If they need a break, we pause. The result is a relaxed session and portraits that show your baby at their most peaceful.

In-Home or studio: Choose what works for your Family

One of the biggest decisions parents make when booking newborn photography is where to shoot. I offer both options because both are wonderful in different ways — and the right choice depends on your home, your family, and how you imagine your portraits. Most newborn parents choose the in-home option for their newborn photos, keeping baby in familiar surroundings.

In-home newborn photography

In-home sessions are ideal when you don't want to leave the house with a new baby and a recovering body. I bring everything we need and work with the natural light already in your home. The advantage is that your baby stays in their own environment — no car seats, no transitions, no disruption to feeding rhythms. Your portraits also reflect your real space and real life, which becomes meaningful as your child grows. I serve in-home newborn sessions across Beaverton, Portland, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, and Tigard.

Studio newborn Sessions

Studio sessions give us complete control over lighting, background and props. If your home has limited natural light, a small space, or pets you'd prefer to keep out of the imagery, the studio is a calm and warm alternative. Studio sessions also tend to produce a more curated, editorial look - soft seamless background, controlled light, and no domestic distractions in the frame.

Why Beaverton families choose studio nagita

There are plenty of newborn photographers in the Beaverton and Portland area, and choosing one is a real decision — you're trusting someone with your baby during one of the most tender weeks of your life. Here's what tends to set my newborn sessions apart:

15+ years of newborn experience. I've photographed hundreds of newborns across the Portland metro, and that experience shows in how calmly and confidently I handle every situation — even the unexpected ones every parent of a newborn knows well.

True flexibility on location. Many photographers offer either in-home or studio. I offer both, and we'll choose what fits your family rather than what fits my workflow.

A baby-led, never rushed pace. Some sessions wrap in 2 hours; some stretch to four hours. I plan for the longer end so you never feel pushed. Your baby's comfort sets the tempo, every single time.

A warm, calm experience. Parents consistently describe my sessions as soothing rather than stressful. That tone is intentional — your baby can feel it, and so can you.

BOOKING

When to book your Beaverton newborn session

For the best newborn portraits, I recommend reaching out during your second or third trimester. Booking ahead means we can hold a flexible window around your due date — because babies, of course, don't run on a schedule. Once your baby arrives, we'll lock in the actual session date based on how you're both doing.

Newborn sessions are typically photographed within the first two to three weeks after birth. This is when newborns are sleepiest, most easily curled into those classic poses, and at their most peaceful. Beyond about three weeks, babies become more alert and harder to settle into wrapped poses — still beautiful, just a different style of session.

If you're past that window, don't worry. I also love photographing babies at the milestone ages of three, six, nine, and twelve months. Just reach out and we'll figure out what fits.

combining maternity and newborn sessions

Many of my clients book a maternity and newborn session together, and it's something I genuinely recommend. The maternity session captures the anticipation — your bump, your partner's hand on it, the nursery before the baby arrives — while the newborn session documents your baby's first days. Together, they tell the complete story of welcoming your child into the family.

Combined session packages are available at a reduced rate compared to booking each separately. We can talk through what's right for you during your initial inquiry.

Investment and what to expect

Newborn photography pricing at Studio Nagita is structured around full session experiences rather than by-the-hour packages. Your investment covers the pre-session consultation, the newborn session itself, all wraps and styling pieces, professional editing, your online gallery, and digital delivery of your favorite images. Prints, wall art, and albums are available as add-ons.

Sibling and family additions

Family members are included in every newborn session — siblings, parents, and even grandparents if they're available. The first 20 to 30 minutes of your session typically captures family portraits while everyone is fresh, then we transition to the quieter newborn-only portraits while older siblings can step away if they're done.
