Family photos that actually feel like your family.

Family Sessions

Family photos that actually feel like your family.

The years your kids are small move fast. The way your toddler holds your hand, the inside joke between your teenagers, your parents looking at your children the same way they once looked at you — these are the details a thoughtful family photography session is here to preserve.

As a Beaverton family photographer with 15+ years of experience, I create family portraits that feel warm and connected, not stiff or staged. Whether we shoot outdoors at one of Portland's beautiful parks, in the comfort of your home, or in studio for a cleaner editorial look, my goal is the same: family images you'll actually love looking at — and that your kids will love looking at someday.

I serve families across Beaverton, Portland, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, and Tigard.

MY APPROACH

Creating synergy you can frame

The best family photos rarely come from telling people to "say cheese." My approach is built around small, specific direction that creates real interaction — a whispered secret between siblings, a parent's hand on a child's back, a moment of looking at each other rather than at the camera. The poses look effortless because they're built from how your family already moves.

I'm patient with kids of every age, including the ones who don't want to be there. Toddlers run, teenagers roll their eyes, dogs forget how to sit — none of it phases me. We work with the energy your family has, not against it.

What's included in your Beaverton family session

Every family session at Studio Nagita is designed as a full experience — planned, styled, and paced around the people in your family. Here's what to expect from inquiry through your final gallery.

Planning

Once you book, we'll connect to talk through your family — how many people, ages of the kids, anyone with special considerations, whether grandparents or extended family are joining. We'll choose a location that fits your vision and a time of day that works with your youngest child's schedule. I'll send a complete preparation guide covering what to expect, timing, and how to make session-day feel easy.

Wardrobe and styling guidance

You'll receive a personalized wardrobe guide informed by my background in fashion design. I help you coordinate outfits across the whole family without anyone matching too literally — the goal is a cohesive palette and a layered, intentional look. I'll review outfit photos with you before the session if you'd like a second eye on the styling.

Calm, playful direction for every age

I direct each part of your family in the language they actually respond to. Toddlers get games and movement; older kids get specific small actions; parents get patient direction that takes the pressure off. The result is family portraits where everyone — including the adults — actually looks relaxed.

Roughly two weeks after your family session, you'll receive a private online gallery of your fully edited high-resolution images. Holiday card files, social shares, and print-ready downloads are all included. Professional prints, wall art, and albums are available through your gallery as add-ons.

IN-HOME, OUTDOOR OR STUDIO

Perfect Beaverton locations for your Family Photo Session

Beaverton is rich in wonderful locations for your family photo sessions.  Your family session can take place wherever feels right for the story you want to tell.  I offer in-home, and outdoor photo sessions based on the look you're going for, although I have a soft spot for outdoor sessions. Here are some of my favorite spots.

Jenkins Estate:

A historic 68-acre estate with formal gardens, stone walls, an old carriage house, and tree-lined lawns. The architecture gives us classic, slightly timeless backdrops you can't replicate at a park. Especially beautiful in late spring when the gardens come in.

Best for: editorial, elegant, slightly dressed-up sessions. Couples who want something that looks more wedding-portrait than nature-walk.

Cooper Mountain

Cooper Mountain is the one I recommend first to almost every client. Rolling meadows, oak savanna, and an open ridge with a clear view toward the Tualatin Valley — golden hour here is genuinely cinematic. The trails are gentle enough for late-pregnancy walking, and the variety means we can pull three or four different looks from a single session without ever driving anywhere else.

Best for: bright, airy, field-and-sky aesthetics. Spring through early fall.

Tualatin Hills Nature Park

A historic 68-acre estate with formal gardens, stone walls, an old carriage house, and tree-lined lawns. The architecture gives us classic, slightly timeless backdrops you can't replicate at a park. Especially beautiful in late spring when the gardens come in.
